A True Beauty

30 Mar

As I was driving home from work today and listening to the radio the DJ made a reference to the late Elizabeth Taylor  and referred to her as a smoke show in her heyday. I think it is clear that she is gorgeous but in this day and age would she be considered a smoke show? I would consider her a smoke show in any decade but I feel like there are differences between what men and women consider “hot”. I was thrilled that he would say that about her but was actually a little surprised. In the current year of 2011 it seems that a lot of beauty is fake and Taylor (to me) was a classic. Just curious if anyone had any thoughts on this?

Liz was a very gorgeous, talented woman. It’s a shame what guys find to be “hot” now a days. When you think back on who the smoke shows use to be (Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, etc.) and then you come back to the present (Angelina Jolie, Catharine Zeta-Jones, Christina Aguilera) in womens opinions.. There’s really not a huge difference. They’re all gorgeous, classy, voluptuous women and look like they came from the same era. But when you think about how much guys minds have changed (Megan Fox, Kate Beckinsale, Cameron Diaz) it actually kind of makes you question where things are headed in the future. If magazines and television shows are influencing how people think now and the Megan Foxs of the world are the smoke shows now.. Who will be the smoke shows 20 years from now?

Really, a beautiful woman is a beautiful women in any era but there is a fine line between that classic beauty and that “trashy hot” look. Smoke shows 2o years from now will probably be plastic dolls or robots . . . who knows, beauty changes like fashion sometimes.
